WREC Sends Largest Mutual Aid Deployment in History

The largest mutual aid deployment in WREC history and a powerful example of the Cooperative difference.

WREC has sent its largest-ever contingent of mutual aid linemen to assist Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CHELCO) with storm recovery near Baker in Florida’s Panhandle. Facing broken poles, downed power lines, and extensive tree damage, our men are working alongside fellow cooperative crews to rebuild damaged infrastructure and restore electricity to families and communities hit hard by the storm.

Representing WREC members across Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties, these men carry our community’s spirit of service with them. We are proud of their hard work and dedication, and grateful to the families supporting them while they are away.

When the need is greatest, cooperatives come together. Proud to be WREC.
