Word was received today that the line crew sent to the Panhandle to help Escambia River Electric Cooperative (EREC) have finished restoring all power there and will be heading back home today. Hurricane Sally made landfall as a category 2 hurricane causing power outages for thousands of members at EREC. Since their arrival on September 18, over 11,000 members had their power restored. Due to the rural nature of the landscape in EREC’s service area, restoration efforts were steady and increased day by day. We’re very proud of our linemen who are always willing to go the extra mile to help others in need. Thank you for doing such a great job, your dedication is appreciated! Thank you also to their families for allowing them to be away during this time.
