WREC Donates $121,000 to Central High School

Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative (WREC), one of the largest employers in Hernando County, invested in the next generation of engineers, welders, medical professionals, and linemen, by donating $121,000 to Central High School. This donation will go towards new equipment and latest technology for students taking the career-focused programs being offered.

“With career-focused programs at Central, WREC is investing in the viability of the Cooperative.” Billy Brown, General Manager of WREC exclaims; “By supporting and donating to Central High School, whose curriculum focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), we can be certain that the lights will remain on in Hernando County for generations.”

WREC is a non-profit utility company that prides itself on investing in the communities in which it serves. This donation is one of many contributions made to improve the quality of life for residents of Hernando County and is one that will pay dividends for years to come.
