WREC Crews Begin Hurricane Restoration Efforts in the Florida Panhandle.

Our WREC crews are up early this morning and ready to get to work assisting CHELCO with hurricane restoration efforts in the DeFuniak Springs area.

The conditions on the ground are challenging. In fact, our crews had to cut their way through fallen trees just to get out of the hotel where they were staying this morning.

Downed trees, scattered debris, and damaged electrical infrastructure are just some of the obstacles restoration crews are facing as they work to reach affected communities and begin restoring power.

Our 59 WREC personnel, along with bucket trucks, digger trucks, and heavy equipment, are prepared to tackle the difficult work ahead.

We are proud of these dedicated men who answered the call to help our fellow cooperative and the people of the Florida Panhandle when they need it most.

Proud to be WREC!
