WREC Offers Six Ways to Pay Your Bill

WREC Mobile App

Download the WREC mobile app and register your account. Through this app you can make payments, view your usage, report power outages sign up for automatic payments, WREC programs and much more! 

Our WREC mobile app will keep you informed and show you where to save time and money on your bills. It gives you complete control over your account by giving you the tools that deliver the right information at the right time so you can make the right decisions about your account.

WREC has multiple office locations where you can pay in person by Cash, Check, Money Order, or Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American Express. See our locations above.

WREC allows you to pay by phone with secure pay by calling 1-855-938-3431. This method does have a $2.75 convenience fee.

IMPORTANT: Other payment locations are not authorized by WREC. If you choose to pay through a third-party vendor, you could risk a delay in delivery of your payment. Such delays may result in additional fees and/or disconnection of service.

 

Electronic Funds Transfer, Automatic Payments and Online Payments

Sign-up for Electronic Funds Transfer "EFT" to authorize  Automatic Payments from your bank to deduct your monthly electric bill payment from your checking or savings account. The fastest and easiest way to sign up is to Log In to your account via wrec.net or on our WREC mobile app. Once in the the app click the bill and pay icon at the bottom and then Auto Pay Program, from there accept the terms and conditions and enter your account information from which you would like the funds pulled from each month. If logged in through wrec.net click on the Bill and Pay tab on the left and then Auto Pay Program and complete the asked for information to enroll.  You may also Print an Electronic Fund Transfer Authorization Form and mail it to your local WREC Office with a blank or voided check or savings deposit slip.

WREC also allows it's Members to make one time online payments. Please allow enough time for payment to be processed when using this method. For more information see the FAQ at the bottom of this page.

  • There is a $5.00 Membership fee which is refundable upon termination of service.

$40.00 Connection Fee

  • New residential Members with satisfactory credit, as reported by a third-party credit bureau, will be exempt from deposit requirements. For others, a deposit equal to two times the highest bill or $300 (whichever is greater) may be required. Other factors may be used in determining deposit requirements. The deposit for a commercial account is based on estimated usage (two months’ billing) or a load sheet provided by a licenced electrician.
  • Returned check fees are pursuant to Florida Statutes.

  • Additional Deposit: An additional deposit may be required if a collection or return check notice is issued.

  • Security deposits will be refunded without interest to all residential members when service has been connected for 24 months and payments were made prior to the past due date.

  • Bills for electric service become past due approximately twenty days after the billing date. Both the billing date and the past due date are printed on your bill. A 1.5%, but not less than, $5.00 late charge will apply to all unpaid balances as of 5:00 p.m. on the past due date.

 

  • Monthly bills include a collection notice of past due amounts. If payment is not received by 5 p.m. on the date indicated on the “Collection Notice”, a $25.00 collection trip fee and/or termination of service may result the following workday. If disconnected, there will be a $40.00 reconnect fee (during normal business hours) or a $75.00 reconnect fee (after hours, weekends or holidays) and an additional deposit may be required before restoring service.
  • Electric meters are read each month.

 

  • Occasionally, WREC will need access to your property to service and inspect our equipment. Providing access to meters and other equipment is the responsibility of each member.

 

  • Meter tampering, or any other method of power diversion is illegal and may result in prosecution.
  • You can request a hold on the transfer of funds by calling your local office at least three days prior to your transfer date. 
  • This service is free from your Cooperative however some bank fees may apply. 
  • Electronic Fund Transfers can only be accomplished with banks in the United States.
  • When you sign up, you authorize your bank to allow Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, Inc. "WREC" to deduct your monthly electric bill payment for your checking or savings account. Our billing system will assign a payment date (approximately 10 to 15 days after the bill date) or you can select a date within the allowable dates for your billing cycle. Upon receipt of your request your banking information will be preauthorized to ensure an accurate transaction will take place between your bank and the Cooperative. This can take up to 30 days but once complete your bill will indicate the amount and date your payment will be deducted from your bank account. 

NOTICE: Any Credit Card, Electronic Funds Transfer, Online Banking Payment, or Online Check transaction returned by your bank or Credit Card transaction disputed by the card holder will be subject to all fees and service charges as established by the Cooperative.

 Members who use their online banking service should allow enough time for the payment to reach Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative “WREC” in order to prevent additional fees and/or disconnection of service. If your electric service is scheduled to be disconnected for non-payment, the online bank payment may not reach the office in time to prevent interruption of electric service. We suggest you check with your bank to determine the length of time it will take for WREC to receive your payment.
