WREC Honors Light Up Navajo Initiative Employees
Last night, WREC proudly honored the employees who participated in this year’s Light Up Navajo initiative during a special appreciation dinner celebrating their service and commitment to bringing electricity to families in need.
Team members were presented with Certificates of Appreciation from Walter Haase, General Manager of Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA), as well as Congressional Records from Congressman Gus Bilirakis recognizing their extraordinary efforts. Attendees also heard heartfelt words of gratitude from WREC General Manager David Lambert and Congresswoman Laurel Lee.
Several of this year’s Light Up Navajo participants are currently serving on mutual aid assignment in the Florida Panhandle, helping restore power for a fellow electric cooperative following recent storms. While they could not attend the event, their families proudly accepted recognition on their behalf.
We are incredibly proud of these employees whose dedication reflects the cooperative spirit of service, whether they're bringing power to homes on the Navajo Nation or helping fellow cooperatives restore power closer to home. Thank you for representing WREC with excellence, compassion, and a commitment to serving others.
