WREC Offers Six Ways to Pay Your Bill
- There is a $5.00 Membership fee which is refundable upon termination of service.
$40.00 Connection Fee
- New residential Members with satisfactory credit, as reported by a third-party credit bureau, will be exempt from deposit requirements. For others, a deposit equal to two times the highest bill or $300 (whichever is greater) may be required. Other factors may be used in determining deposit requirements. The deposit for a commercial account is based on estimated usage (two months’ billing) or a load sheet provided by a licenced electrician.
-
Returned check fees are pursuant to Florida Statutes.
-
Additional Deposit: An additional deposit may be required if a collection or return check notice is issued.
-
Security deposits will be refunded without interest to all residential members when service has been connected for 24 months and payments were made prior to the past due date.
- Bills for electric service become past due approximately twenty days after the billing date. Both the billing date and the past due date are printed on your bill. A 1.5%, but not less than, $5.00 late charge will apply to all unpaid balances as of 5:00 p.m. on the past due date.
- Monthly bills include a collection notice of past due amounts. If payment is not received by 5 p.m. on the date indicated on the “Collection Notice”, a $25.00 collection trip fee and/or termination of service may result the following workday. If disconnected, there will be a $40.00 reconnect fee (during normal business hours) or a $75.00 reconnect fee (after hours, weekends or holidays) and an additional deposit may be required before restoring service.
- Electric meters are read each month.
- Occasionally, WREC will need access to your property to service and inspect our equipment. Providing access to meters and other equipment is the responsibility of each member.
- Meter tampering, or any other method of power diversion is illegal and may result in prosecution.
- You can request a hold on the transfer of funds by calling your local office at least three days prior to your transfer date.
- This service is free from your Cooperative however some bank fees may apply.
- Electronic Fund Transfers can only be accomplished with banks in the United States.
- When you sign up, you authorize your bank to allow Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, Inc. "WREC" to deduct your monthly electric bill payment for your checking or savings account. Our billing system will assign a payment date (approximately 10 to 15 days after the bill date) or you can select a date within the allowable dates for your billing cycle. Upon receipt of your request your banking information will be preauthorized to ensure an accurate transaction will take place between your bank and the Cooperative. This can take up to 30 days but once complete your bill will indicate the amount and date your payment will be deducted from your bank account.
NOTICE: Any Credit Card, Electronic Funds Transfer, Online Banking Payment, or Online Check transaction returned by your bank or Credit Card transaction disputed by the card holder will be subject to all fees and service charges as established by the Cooperative.
Members who use their online banking service should allow enough time for the payment to reach Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative “WREC” in order to prevent additional fees and/or disconnection of service. If your electric service is scheduled to be disconnected for non-payment, the online bank payment may not reach the office in time to prevent interruption of electric service. We suggest you check with your bank to determine the length of time it will take for WREC to receive your payment.
NOTICE: Any Credit Card, Electronic Funds Transfer, Online Banking Payment, or Online Check transaction returned by your bank or Credit Card transaction disputed by the card holder will be subject to all fees and service charges as established by the Cooperative.
