Today WREC employees met at Linda Pederson Park in Hernando County to participate in the 40th Annual International Coastal Cleanup. This is the 10th year of the event at the park. Coastal Cleanup originated in 1986 by the Ocean Conservatory to help remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways. Since then, more than 18 million volunteers have removed more than 380 million pounds of junk from our natural spaces. A big ‘Thank You’ to all the participants for your time and effort!
