WREC sends Mutal Aid Relief to North Florida

Cooperation among Cooperatives is a founding principle for Electric Co-ops. Yesterdays storm brought on our own challenges but we were able to restore all of our Members power last night. Now it is time to help our fellow Co-ops in need. This morning we sent 24 linemen, 3 supervisors, 1 mechanic to assist Talquin Electric up near Tallahassee to help them restore power to their Members who have been without power since yesterday morning. 

Storm Crews Update (1/11/24)- After leaving early Wednesday morning to assist Talquin Electric Cooperative restore power to their Members that were impacted by this weeks storm system that generated high winds and tornados in Florida’s panhandle, WREC crews quickly moved on this morning to come to the aide of West Florida Electric Cooperative. These crews should finish up today and be headed home tomorrow. In a statement from Executive Vice President and General Manager, David B. Lambert "we are sincerely appreciative for these employees' willingness to leave their families to travel and help out folks that are in desperate need".
